User option in "Save Layer" dialog to preserve document size for exported layers

When use Layer->Management->Save Layer, each layer is exported independently from document size. So if layer size is smaller than document, it is exported in smaller size. This is logical, but in some situations this could be problematic, when required to put exported layers back to document to same position.

So here is a idea:
Is it possible somehow add user option in "Save Layer" dialog to preserve document size for exported layers? Automatically add transparent background area to smaller layers and crop to document size for larger layers?

P.S. Probably not too logical, but maybe just apply this setting depending of Thumbnail Document/Layer view mode in Layers list?

Instead of using the "save layer" option, rather start using the newer Export panel: it has an option to export the layers at page/document size.

And if you create a preset, then it's a matter of selecting all layers you'd like to export, choose the preset, and click export! Done!

I'd have to check. But does this export all layers to a single pdf for instance. Or does it create individual documents?

My only qualm with the Export panel is that the number of file formats is so limited. I wish we could add additional file formats somehow.
