P.S. Currently Highlighted Text effect partially possible to emulate by Underline with customized with and position. But this is not too comfortable at all.

Yes, but this will produce raster output. My idea here is to generate final metaball as vector path.

Yes. This is a good function to have. I might be wrong about this, but at least in Affinity, these dough-ball effect, is achieved by compounding shapes and applying inner contour with the dedicated contour tool. So, question: does it need a contour tool? Even illustrator if I remember uses the same method.

By the way, dough ball effect is much more fun name.
