Hi all,
Would it be possible when saving an animated GIF as PDF to tell the animated GIF to loop endless?. Right now I can export the GIF as PDF but the animation doesn't loop.
Or there is a workaround for this?
Cheers,
Juan

AFAIK PDF doesn't support endless animations.
In its preferences Adobe Reader has a "Fullscreen" option for this "Loop after last page" (do a web search for "Making a PDF Presentation Loop").

Re: Endless GIF into PDF
Thanks, sadly I think that my idea is not going to work.
I wanted to create a multipage PDF where some pages has small animated GIF, nothing fancy but wanted to make it more dynamic the PDF since is a very very standard format here.
If at some point PL finds a way to do it would be awesome, but for now I think I will have to pause my idea.
Cheers,
Juan

Re: Endless GIF into PDF
As far as I am aware, the PDF standard has never, and does not currently support animated GIFs. It is possible to convert them to a MOV or SWF, but that means the Flash player must be installed on the user's system. And the Flash player is dead, and will be officially no longer supported by Adobe in 2020.
PDF is the wrong document format for this kind of interactive and/or animated content.

Re: Endless GIF into PDF
Thanks for your insight, really appreciated.
I was thinking to go down the PowerPoint road or html, but the problem with html is the coding part which is what I want to avoid.
Cheers,
Juan

Re: Endless GIF into PDF
Adobe help says something about embedded H.264 videos.
But it does not explain if it is really a part of the PDF format, or just a goodie of Acrobat reader.

To play embedded movie files Acrobat has always relied on the Flash player (which must be installed on the user's system). There is no built-in support for media playing in any PDF reader. PDF is the wrong format for this. In particular now that Flash is (officially almost) dead.Hoogo wrote: ↑Sat 11 May 2019 13:47 Adobe help says something about embedded H.264 videos.
