Handwritten font with swirls

Sometimes I'm wondering how designers create these wonderful swirls in handwritten graphics.
Now I know.
Create a vectorline with two "needle-point-ends".
Write wt a Handwritten font a text.
Then at the endpoints of some letters, extend the fontlines with the vector-tool "vector drawing" as I did in the sample.
Don't forget to "smooth" the drawing (tools settings).
